Wish You Were Here is a song with music by Christine McVie and lyrics by Colin Allen recorded by McVie with Fleetwood Mac and featured as the final track of their 1982 album Mirage.
Christine McVie had co-written two other songs on the album, Love in Store and Hold Me with other writers outside of the group but this was the only one where the lyric was entirely supplied by an outside writer. Colin Allen had been working with John McVie in a temporary reunion of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers at the time and this may have led to the collaboration.
The song was never performed live by Fleetwood Mac but Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham revived it for performance on their 2017 tour as a duo.
