Waddy Wachtel, born Robert Wachtel May 24, 1947, is an American guitarist, composer and producer whose credits include work with Keith Richards, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and Warren Zevon.
His connection with Fleetwood Mac began when he played rhythm guitar on Sugar Daddy from the 1975 album Fleetwood Mac. Later he played on Stevie Nicks' solo debut Bella Donna, with his playing particularly prominent on the hit single Edge of Seventeen for which he came up with the defining one-note guitar solo. Subsequently he played on most of Nicks' solo albums, the only exceptions being The Other Side of the Mirror (1989) and Street Angel (1994) and toured with her as well. Her last two albums each featured a song where Wachtel had a composer credit.
