Tusk is the twelfth studio album by Fleetwood Mac, released October 12th 1979. As the follow-up to the internationally bestselling Rumours, it was created under pressure to equal that album's critical and commercial success. Reacting against expectation, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham took a greater role in production than on previous albums, recorded several tracks entirely by himself and the album was issued as a double vinyl set.
The album enjoyed a mixed reception at the time and was hailed as the most expensive album ever made but in later years came to be looked on more favourably. Three of its songs, Tusk, Sara, and Think About Me reached the US Top 20 while the title track was also the group's first top ten hit in the UK since 1970, a reissue of Albatross notwithstanding.
