The Wild Heart is Stevie Nicks' second solo album, released June 10th 1983. It was dedicated to the memory of her friend Robin Anderson who had recently died from leukaemia.
The Wild Heart spawned three US Top 40 singles in Stand Back, If Anyone Falls and Nightbird. Following the success of Stop Draggin' My Heart Around (1981), the album featured a second duet with Tom Petty in I Will Run To You for which they were backed once again by the Heartbreakers including Nicks' future Fleetwood Mac member Mike Campbell.
Mick Fleetwood played drums on Sable on Blonde.
The Wild Heart was also the first of Nicks' albums to feature keyboards, background vocals and composition from Sandy Stewart. The two would work together again on a number of occasions, most notably on the Fleetwood Mac hit Seven Wonders (1987).
