The Visitor is the first spin-off album by Mick Fleetwood, released in June 1981. The album was largely recorded out in Africa with native musicians but a basic rock band featured as well with players Todd Sharp and George Hawkins contributing their own material. Two songs from Fleetwood Mac's back catalogue were rerecorded - group founder Peter Green's 1969 Fleetwood Mac song Rattlesnake Shake with Green himself on guitar and lead vocal and Lindsey Buckingham's 1979 song Walk a Thin Line with guitar from Fleetwood's former brother-in-law George Harrison.

George Hawkins would go on to contribute to further solo efforts by Fleetwood and other Fleetwood Mac members.
