Tango in the Night is the fourteenth studio album by Fleetwood Mac, released on April 13th 1987. It was their first album after a five-year hiatus in which members had concentrated on solo projects and the last studio album to feature the popular Rumours line-up (the members would each record studio albums again with the group but not together). After the completion of the album, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham would leave the group. He would rejoin in 1997 for The Dance and although he would appear as a session musician on both studio albums recorded in his absence this was the last studio album to feature him as a member until Say You Will (2003).
The album was a major international success, spending five non-consecutive weeks at No 1 in the United Kingdom, surpassing even Rumours, as well as topping the Swedish album chart. It reached #7 in the United States. Four of the six singles released from the album became major hits, three of them reaching the UK top ten, a record for the group.
