Sentimental Lady is a song by Bob Welch featured on Fleetwood Mac's 1972 album Bare Trees. The song was a tribute to Welch's first wife Nancy.
It was rerecorded for Welch for his first solo album French Kiss in 1977. This version featured Mick Fleetwood and Christine McVie who had also played on the original recording as well as featuring guitars, keyboards and production from Welch's successor in the band, Lindsey Buckingham. It was also a hit single, peaking at #8 in the United States.
Welch recorded the song again for His Fleetwood Mac Years and Beyond in 2003.
The most notable hallmark of the Fleetwood Mac original is the inclusion of a second verse, not featured on the solo recordings.
