Penguin is the seventh album by Fleetwood Mac, released in March 1973. The album was the first to feature lead guitarist Bob Weston and the only one with lead vocalist Dave Walker.
The album took its title from the band's adoption of the penguin as their mascot based on bassist John McVie's fascination with the Arctic bird - he had taken to regularly watching them at London Zoo for a time. From 1971's Future Games onwards, virtually every Fleetwood Mac studio album featured the image of a penguin somewhere in the packaging. (List of appearances of penguins on Fleetwood Mac albums).
The album was recorded at Benifold, their communal residence in Hampshire with the use of the Rolling Stones Mobile Unit. It featured a guest appearance by founder member Peter Green on the song called "Night Watch".
