Need Your Love So Bad was the A-side of Fleetwood Mac's third single, released in 1968. The song originally recorded in 1955 by blues singer Little Willie John and written by his brother Mertis John Jr.
Mac's recording reflected the richer sounds achieved on their second album Mr. Wonderful. It featured strings and several additional musicians including future member Christine Perfect. It peaked at #31 in the UK chart in August 1969. The single clocked in at 3:53 but a longer version at 6:15 appears on some compilations. The B-side in most territories was a cover of Howlin' Wolf's No Place to Go taken from Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac although in Germany Stop Messin' Round from Mr. Wonderful was used.
