Michael Wayne Campbell (born February 1, 1950), commonly known as Mike Campbell, is an American guitarist, songwriter and record producer who joined Fleetwood Mac in February 2018.

Campbell's involvement in the music business came through his work with Tom Petty initially with Mudcrutch and then, more famously with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

The connection to Fleetwood Mac came chiefly through Stevie Nicks. Nicks was a big fan of Petty's work and often stated that she wished she could be in the Heartbreakers. Petty acquiesced to this somewhat by allowing her to sing with him on The Insider on the Hard Promises album in 1981 but the link was made even stronger when a cast-off song from that album's sessions, Stop Draggin' My Heart Around was given to Nicks and recorded in collaboration with her for her solo debut Bella Donna the same year. Released as the first single from the album it soared to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, higher than any of Petty or Nicks's singles (Fleetwood Mac releases notwithstanding) managed to reach before or since. The band also played on Outside the Rain on the same album.

A second song, I Will Run to You was given to Nicks for her second album The Wild Heart (1983) but it was when Nicks and Campbell began sporadically writing songs together which mostly featured on her solo albums although one, Freedom appeared on Fleetwood Mac's Behind the Mask (1990).

Campbell's career was briefly curtailed when Tom Petty died in October 2017 but he was invited to join Fleetwood Mac in February 2018 and is currently playing on their tour An Evening With Fleetwood Mac. He takes the lead vocal on the Peter Green-penned hit Oh Well which he had also played live with Petty.
