John Herron was a keyboard player and composer. Briefly a member of the Electric Prunes in 1969, he was a longtime collaborator of Rick Vito. Their songs together included Meet Me at Midnite which served as the title track of Maria Muldaur's 1994 album and later appeared on Vito's Lucky Devils (2000) and Money and Love from Crazy Cool (2001). With Stevie Nicks, the two co-wrote Paper Doll which would be released by Fleetwood Mac as one of four new tracks on their 1992 compilation 25 Years: The Chain.
Herron played with Vito on his early solo albums and tours under the pseudonym Jerry Lee Domino, a nickname given him by Vito combining those of Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino.
He also co-wrote the song It Ain't Over from Billy Burnette's 1985 album Try Me, which featured a backing vocal from Christine McVie, and Evidence which opened John McVie's 1992 spin-off project John McVie's "Gotta Band" with Lola Thomas.
He died in 2003.
