Fleetwood Mac Wiki

Jim Recor is a former music manager for bands like Loggins and Messina. His connection with Fleetwood Mac began when they were the opening act for Loggins and Messina. He and Mac's touring manager John Courage became friends through these and other bands they managed appearing on concert bills together. He introduced his wife Sara to Stevie Nicks with whom she became close friends. Not long afterwards Sara began a relationship with Mick Fleetwood. This led to her divorce from Recor (she and Fleetwood married in 1988 but divorced a few years later). Despite this, he co-wrote the band's 1982 hit Love in Store with Christine McVie.

NOTES FROM SARA JONES RECOR FLEETWOOD: Jim Recor became friends with Fleetwood Mac when Fleetwood Mac was the opening act for Loggins and Messina. He was L & M Road Manager from the beginning of their touring dates. Later when Kenny Loggins became a solo artist he managed Kenny who was a good friend (though a different class) from San Gabriel High in SG California. John Courage Fleetwood Mac’s tour manager and Jim Recor became good friends after years of “their” artists and crews sharing the same stage. Jim officially introduced me (Sara Jones Recor Fleetwood) to Stevie Nicks and we immediately became best friends which was cemented in the first months of 1978 on the vacation we took together with her friends Tom Moncrieff and Mary Torre DeVito. (With visitations from the fellow who played drums in the same band Jim knew FM a while before I met them. SLJRF
