George Hawkins Junior was a musician/songwriter/singer who played bass guitar on solo work by Fleetwood Mac alumni Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie.

He played bass guitar and keyboards and did most of the lead vocals on Fleetwood's 1981 album The Visitor to which he also contributed the song Cassiopeia Surrender. Shortly afterwards, he and Fleetwood both played on Buckingham's hit single Trouble.

Subsequently he was part of the basic band on the 1983 album by Mick Fleetwood's Zoo, I'm Not Me, where he shared lead vocals with guitarists Steve Ross and Billy Burnette, the latter of whom would join Fleetwood Mac in 1987.

Hawkins was also part of the basic band for Christine McVie's albums Christine McVie and In the Meantime, co-writing most of the songs on the latter.

He died in 2018.
