For Your Love was a hit single for the Yardbirds in 1965. At the time, the band featured Eric Clapton on lead guitar. Clapton would leave shortly afterwards to join John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in which John McVie was bassist at the time. The song was written by Graham Gouldman who wrote other hits for bands such as Herman's Hermits and The Hollies. He later found success in his own right as a member of 10cc.
Fleetwood Mac's recording of the song was included at the last minute on their 1973 album Mystery to Me after the song Good Things (Come To Those Who Wait) was dropped. It was released as a single but its b-side, Hypnotized, gained more airplay.
