Big Love is a song written by Lindsey Buckingham and recorded by him with Fleetwood Mac for their 1987 album Tango in the Night. The song opened the album and was the first track to be released as a single.
Buckingham has since explained that the "house on the hill" in the lyric refers his home where he has recorded both solo and Fleetwood Mac projects and that the phrase "Looking out for love" refers to his reticence and cautiousness in seeking a new relationship at the time.
Despite the group's five year absence since the Mirage album, the single was a hit in several territories, reaching #5 in the United States and #5 in the United Kingdom.
The song was not performed on the subsequent tour as Buckingham left the group after the album's completion (he would rejoin in 1997). He did however perform the song in a rapidly fingerpicked acoustic version on his 1992 Out of the Cradle tour and has included this version in every subsequent tour both solo and with Mac. Its first commercial release was on the live album The Dance in 1997.
The single's B-side was You and I Part I which did not appear on any album until the 2017 remaster of Tango in the Night.
The song made its appearance as track 18 on Fleetwood Mac: The Ultimate Collection
